That is my art critic Sienna. She loves art also, and that I am using her Pappy (my dad), for Sarah's dad in the Sarah the Showman series. 

 

I began illustrating children's books for author and friend Rachel Williams Cutrer in 2015. I was pregnant with Sienna, so the timing felt perfect.

 

I chose watercolor pencil, thinking I could work faster with that medium, than with any other medium. I continue to use watercolor pencil, but

tampered a little with pan pastels for my sky in Rachel's most recent book, Sarah's Louisville Adventure. You may see me use pastels more for future books.
